My debut solo album. I was only a couple of months into recovery when I started working on this. It had been a while since I could write anything. I was feeling scared, alone and a little lost. I think it shows. I also didn't know much about recording - that definitely shows. It's quite ragged, but so was I.

The cover is a photograph of the guts of a dead piano. It had been dumped, like a drunk, on the street near the flat I was staying in. I'd pass it on my way to the train station every day. It broke my heart seeing it abandoned like that. It seemed appropriate to use it.
